As you probably know, the Gold Coast and Essendon game has been rescheduled for the AFL's R24. No doubt this will be the opening game of the round, but both teams will play again that round, probably on the Sunday, against Port Adelaide and Carlton, respectively.
This is our DuFFLe Grand Final. Two DuFFLe players will be affected. If I let the results be processed as normal, which match scores do I use? GC v Ess, GC v PA, or Ess v Car?
My first thought was to ignore the GC v Ess game, but the practicalities of this will be hard for the DuFFLers selecting their teams as there will be a good chance of players getting injured etc and not playing in the subsequent R24 game. So I don't think that is fair.
- I could find the best scores from the players playing twice and use that.
- I could allow the DuFFLers to pick their teams after the GC v Ess game, but that only works if, say, the GC v Ess is played on a Wednesday and the other matches commence from Thursday. That might not be the case.
- We could cut the DuFFLe competition short by one round. R19 could be the last HomeNaway and R23 the Grand Final.
Any thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?
