I've unilaterally decided (as this is a popular political strategy these days) to name Round 1 the Shane Richmond Round.

I've never met Shane, although I've spoken to him on the phone once. I know next to nothing about him but I am most grateful for Dockerland and I wish to pay tribute. Dockerland has given me enormous entertainment and joy over twenty years, and I've met some lifelong friends through the site. My experience will be congruent for many, if not all, of you.

Dockerland may well be in its last season so I'm not going to let the opportunity pass to recognise Shane for bringing this site to us all. This is tokenistic for those who don't recognise the privilege of having a DuFFLe round named after them. Long time DuFFLers will recognise this honour.

I think the last round of the Duffle season should be Dufflers Round in recognition to all those who have contributed over the years.

It's been sad to see the decline from what was always such a witty and engaging Freo meeting place online. The past couple of years have not been as kind with some decorated posters like Polly and Oos passing on while traffic onto dockerland has fallen away dramatically.

Shane has done such a wonderful job keeping this place alive and well the past +25 years, he should absolutely be commemorated with a round. Shane even provided us with our own section of the site and helped so much in the early days with emails and even playing in the DuFFLe. I do hope he is doing well and he's able to help build dockerland back up once more.
