Midfielders Deliver Cups

It is no wonder that the Brownlow and Sandover medals are, effectively, the best midfielder awards as is evidenced by the dominance of The Captain’s Jokers and BT’s El Hombres. Both teams had super-dominant ball-gatherers and these point accumulators guaranteed their victories.

* Jolly Jokers (172) defeated El Primero (137.5) at Beerporium Balcony
* Slammen's Saviours (129.5) lost to El Bombres (165) at Saving Grace Stadium

Congratulations CaptDazza on the 2024 DuFFle Premiership, and well done BomberTroy on securing the inaugural Pollyanna Cup! Commiserations but plaudits to MattyT and Slammo-Jnr who earned their way into the final games of the DuFFLe only to fall short.

Strange old day this one, Bulldogs getting up over the Giants, then the joy of Saints knocking over Carlton, then knowing Troy and I had our victories sewn up, followed by Freo missing out on finals anyway.

The Jokers managed to finish the season with back to back 172's when it mattered, which were our 2nd best scores of the season.
Bad luck Matty, I struggled with my backs for most of the year, then in the GF you're backs went AWOL.
That's now 2 wins, to go with 2 GF losses and 1 Richmond/Green Ginger Cup, since starting in 2012.

Well done Troy, good to see the footy genes came good, and no Bombers players in your final team!

Thanks everyone for taking part, enjoyed the season, especially trying to keep pace with the front runners.

Thanks heaps once again Merc. Awesome job running the comp so well, as always. Greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you all at the end of season catch up.

The El Primero mids fired nicely, just had passengers up front, down back and in the ruck. Wilkie has been such a solid backman and went completely missing!
