The AFL season kicks off this Thursday, March 16, at the MCG where the Richmond Tigers host the up and coming Carlton Blues. With bouncedown occurring at 4:20pm, your team needs to be submitted to this thread by 4:10pm WA time.

- BomberTroy (Belconnen Bombres) v Cookie (Ingredients) at Manuka Mud Pit
- MattyT (El Primero) v Ooslumbird (Knights in Purple Satin) at Swan Valley Arena
- Moptop (Lapines) v The Blocker (Willsie Aeroplane) at White Rabbit Oval
- PurpleThai (Hecklers) v Bizkit (SoS Superstars) at Statler-Waldorf Gardens
- TheColonel (Wagner War Machine) v Slammen (Slammen's Winners) at Bakhmut Wasteland
Round 1 can always be a bit hit and miss, but a few things are obvious to those of you with enlightened minds such as mine... FD's Bros will have an easy McInerney-led win over the Insomniacs. Not so sure about The Captain v Straddo though. I think the Souls might just fall short of the line.
Hypen's Heroes look formidable whereas the Kit Kats look wobbly. Easy kill for Hypen. BomberTroy has a well-balanced squad this season but I reckon Cookie will have the edge when they meet at the Manuka Mud Pit. Not surprisingly, I like the look of MattyT's El Primero but I also like Oos's Knights. This should be a ripper game and may very well be the first Draw of the season.
I reckon Moppy's squad could sneak under people's radar this year. Without being outstanding, there are no real weaknesses and I think they will get the job done on WillsieAir. PurpleThai faces the might of Bizkit and I don't think our defending cup holder will go easy on the new team in town. The Stars to shine. Lastly, The Colonel v Slammen. Ignoring the bluff and bluster of Slammo, he is an astute coach and The Colonel will need to pick carefully to take the game up to Slammen's Winners. Slammo by ten points.
