Talk, talk talk. Slammo is big on the talk and not so big on… Ummm... Ah... And not so big on letting insignificant teams trouble his Men. Slammo has leapt into 7th spot on the DuFFLe ladder from, just a few weeks ago, appearing to be out of the running for a finals appearance. The Commandos slide to eighth and are precariously placed as there are just two points separating rungs 7, 8 9 and 10. Actually, just four points separating positions 6 to 10. Straddo, Slammo, The Colonel, 391 and Cookie are all on tenter hooks. You could put all these teams into a hat and randomly draw names for their final placings and be just as accurate as you would from analysing form.

Towards the top of the ladder, WillsieAir managed to cling onto the top four by inflicting a most painful single point defeat on Nelson’s Dreamers. 156 to 155. It’s tough to lose like that and Nelson now sits adrift in fifth position. It is especially hard to take when you see the Rashers score a point less but win against the dangerous Fungis and nearly lock away their double-chance. One more win for FD and she’s secured a most valuable piece of DuFFLe realty.

Cookie sits just half a game out of the eight after losing to the impressive Buccaneers. Although Alvin sits on top of the ladder at present, he could well slip down a few rungs as his Buccaneers have not scored as heavily over the season as have WillsieAir and The Captain’s Jokers. Speaking of The Captain, he managed to hold off Straddo’s Souls with a high scoring ten point victory. Both the Captain and Straddo are strong candidates to take out the 2019 premiership and are teams who have mostly slipped under the radar for the whole of the HomeNaway. Not any more. I give everyone some free advice - beware!

You would well know, dear reader, that I wrote off the Collusions as a contender some time ago but 391 still has them hanging around. They are only aggregate scoring points out of the top eight and if they continue to win, should be finals bound. This week, the Collusions defeated the swarthy Hombres down at the Dome. MattyT may be out of the top eight, but his El Primero should be considered favourites for the Richmond Cup.

Hypen has gone missing and his directionless Purple Pounders were brushed aside by Oos’s Knights. Biz did enough to defeat Polly’s Hooley Dooleys and both will be more than a nuisance to the top teams. Biz and Polly could inflict a defeat on any team and they could shake up the top eight. Moppy and PK fought out a low-scoring affair with the Riders bringing home the bikkies.

TheColonel 2019: Round 17 - Results 2 months 6 days ago #2

TheColonel
and God looked down at the duffle and he saw that the slammen men needed a win so he/she asked the Colonel (being as he is only in his first year and slammen is a player of long standing) if he could allow slammen to have a win.

The Colonel being a kind hearted soul did agree and let his players perform like the Dockers and allowed slamen's men to win.
