If I was a Richmond supporter I would have been furious about the umpiring. I don't know why, but they loved us today. Maybe just softening us up for Sydney next week.

Overall a really good effort by us. Ryan enjoyed himself. Young was awesome. Serong & Brayshaw were their usual impressive selves. Emmett is great with pressure. Walters and Simpson were a bit quiet. Fyfe coming on fresh when everyone else was tired worked well.

I watched the match on my phone so it was hard to make out what happened to Amiss, but JLo was unimpressed with the treatment he copped today and all season to date. Not sure if it helps Amiss or not for the coach to come out so publicly about it.

That said, I thought were we heavily favoured by the umps today.

Then once again the protected zone encroachment call just weird when the bloke not standing the mark immediately leaves the area, does not affect the play, but the ump has decided he should be standing the mark so fifty.

Richmond defenders lucky not to have given away a multitude of frees as every time we moved the ball into our forward line it was like watching Wrestlemania as they were clearly instructed to hold and block our forwards by any means, fair or foul, but more often foul. Coach Adem Yze said as much in his presser after the game. Simply if the kick is there it should be paid whether it results in a lopsided free kick count or not.

Agree Mushroom. Holding the ball interpretation has definitely changed this season. Players now given an eternity to get rid of it, even if they’ve had prior opportunity, and umps are very lax on incorrect disposal (unless you’re Alex Pearce).

If you watch the replay ,the dirty S--,puts his knee in Jye's mouth ,before that pic,then after Jye is on his knees obviously nearly concussed again,he gets up and rubs his mouth,looking for blood.FFS umps grow some.
