The best bit of play ive seen all year...in PA /SK match...

Torp out of the centre, catches everyone of guard, goal results.

Why dont we see more of it.?

Its entirely different to the 'bomb it to the forward line' rubbish/oncept that that Fremantle teams of last 10 yests do...

A well executed torp brings gasps, just like high marks do....

There should be more of it...

Coaches see the torp as low percentage kick. It is significantly harder to mark and if not off the top of the foot prone to inaccuracy. But when executed well it is a thing of beauty. That was beautiful

Torps and drop/punt kicks really defined what aussie rules footy was all about at its best. Players like Subi's Brian Sarre kicking out from full back with his dynamic drop kicks to the centre, Cable's pin point deliveries, and Brian Peake and Malcolm Blight's brilliant 70 metre torps ... fantastic. I have heard the reasons why coaches dropped this skill from our game (probably couldn't teach it) however, how great would it be to see these kicks back in action one day?

Giving away our age now Magic waxing lyrical about Brian Sarre and his drop kicks, next thing we'll be calling for Jye and Cohuna to take place kick shots at goals. Interesting thought though, do he have someone in our line up who can execute the torp.

Remember a game against the Bombers around 2007. Nobody could kick it 50 metres with a strong breeze to the city end. Apart fron the Wiz of course, dobbed it from 55. With a torp.
