Being away for weeks and being done by the umps two weeks in a row would have some affect on the players .

It looked like they were down and had not done there home work , or prepared properly .

Maybe it was a good idea giving JL only one year . the game plan needs to speed everything up .

I don’t understand why we are so dour. For years I stuck up for Lyon’s Freo teams being dour on the basis we had Sandi, Fyfe, Mundy and Barlow (then Neale) in the middle. We were contested ball monsters but we’d lose a track meet.

What’s the deal with this team? Why are we playing with so little dare? I just don’t get it.

Dare would be awesome but I’d settle for enthusiasm.

Defence seemed defenceless tonight. Starting from half forward and back from there. They had nothing as soon as hands weren’t on the ball. Zero. And not a lot more when hands were on the ball.

It was boredom personified.

Looked like we were not prepared and the club lacks depth. Our mid field won't win games...Serong and Brayshaw need to go forward win the ball our forward 25m area.
Walker still takes on players and gets caught. it's not under 17's
Walters can't get a kick.
Amiss needs Cox as Proxy.
Banfield gets a full time gig and does well but is he our forward.
Adelaide sucks.

No point crying over spilt milk.

The budgies got some momentum early and our defence was slightly below the exceptional best we have gotten used to in the first 5 games of the season. The return of Chapman and eventually Cox will be great to see as it was a disgrace we can let a plonker like Waterman even kick one goal let alone five.

We had a few forwards out including Switkowski, Frederick and Amiss who all would've made a difference. Not just on the scoreboard but the other work they do. Had Banfield kicked 4.0 rather than 0.4 we might be having a different discussion.

Our midfield were on top the whole game so the whole game seemed a bit strange. I wouldn't complain about the umpiring but there were a a couple of decisions at crucial moments early in the game which cost us some momentum I thought.

Roll on to next week.

I thought they showed a lot of heart the past two weeks against legit top four contenders away from home. But to come back and do this...playing like they played against Port in the scratchies - with no run or dare or fluidity or even guts. To be out-pressured by the Slime. To be out-coached by Simpson. I've always liked JLo but he's dead to me. If you can't get a Dockers team up and about for the Derby when we're in the eight and the Slime are wooden spooners then you don't deserve to be our coach.
