The AFL in a number of areas, the application of the rules being one, operate like an amateur organization. We’ve four field umpires out there now, who often miss obvious free kicks. It’s no doubt not an easy job being an umpire but with four field umpires and a review system can’t they efficiently sort out errors, particularly when they directly impact scoring ie within scoring distance of the goals.

I’d like to know whether Clarke swore at the umpire or about the decision, there’s a big difference.

The decision won’t be changed now, so it’s irrelevant if the umpires hate the Dockers or not. What’s done is done. There’s always been problems with the AwFuL’s take on sports governance and integrity issues. Always will be. It’s how things are.
To be properly successful - win a grand final - the Dockers have to make fixture inconsistencies, umpiring errors and VIC bias irrelevant. So, from now on, Freo need to:
1) score (a lot) more goals….
2) act with (a lot) more maturity when these situations arise and
3) learn to properly defend a small lead so 1) isn’t so important.

Dockermus.i think the team was defending our lead with what 90 secs to go very well,,but then along comes these little green @#$%,I was going to say people,who turned the game on it's head.
These little greenies,forgot to do their job and that is to umpire the game within the rules.
It was them that created the confusion not our players .

I can reluctantly accept and move on from the robbery that occurred in last 2 minutes of the game but what is really annoying the crap out of me is the way that the Melbourne footy media are lauding Carlton for their great performance in coming from behind to win the game. It's a total load of bull, Carlton did nothing special to win, they only won because of the umpire's bad decisions. Are they saying that the guys in yellow are on their payroll. They were the only thing that got the Blues over the line. Unbelievable. They are in fantasy world in Melbourne
