Fremantle Dockers give positive update for Oscar McDonald with defender a chance to play again this season
Fremantle and Oscar McDonald have caught a lucky break, with the defender avoiding a knee reconstruction after successful surgery on Wednesday.
The Dockers recruit went down in their round one victory over Brisbane after landing awkwardly from an attempted spoil, with fears his season could be over as the club assessed the damage to his left knee.
It wasn’t until this week scans confirmed he had damaged his posterior lateral corner (PLC), with the extent of the damage to his ACL unclear until he went in for surgery.
But the club revealed on Thursday McDonald had avoided requiring a full ACL reconstruction, with the Dockers holding hope he could feature again this season.
