nah, that was a good spoil, all ball.

they do often pay those for front on "contact", because the player is facing the "wrong way". but it shouldn't have been a free IMO

I thought the spoil on Freddy was clean too. Umpires missed a few dropping/holding the balls, but not the worst umpiring I’ve seen by a long stretch.
Tabs got away with one with what should have been a push in the back on our forward 50 in the second quarter (I think)

The spoil on Freddy 100% hit Freddy's arms making it illegal. The guy wasn't looking at the ball and while he might have hit the ball, also collected arms. It was a free kick 10m out directly in front.

Yeah, we pick out Tabs shove as a example of how Freo infringed without penalty, but there were many more not paid against the Crows than the Freo boys. And explain the below the knees one, the ball had travelled 15 meters from the contest and the Crow took about 3 steps to make sure HE initiated the contact???

I've only just seen the replay, so ive only just seen it, ...but that is surely ' a mistake'?

Can somebody please do an analysis of the score review system so we can just scrap it?

Since maybe 1% of calls the umpire made are actually overturned out of maybe 5 reviews per game - so even if once in 20 years they get one wrong in a grand final and once in many more years, say 80 (probably more), it actually affects the result, so be it.

That's 80 years of much more enjoyable and unnecessarily interrupted football viewing in the mean time.

and, by the way, play-on means the ball has come into play, i.e. has been kicked in. Thereafter there is a possession and disposal of the ball by a player. It can then go anywhere unless he puts it out of bounds with insufficient attempt not to.
