The point I argued for playing Voss over Tabs was that it's an easy fixture vs North who have few if any key defenders of note. It should have been a lay up to kick goals and you shouldn't put too much weight on those kicked. That was the perfect opportunity to get the younger and more in form player a go to boost his confidence and help him adjust to the AFL/new teammates.

Tabs kicking 2 goals against North isn't really anything to brag about.

Amiss v Bris ... one out with his defender, space to lead in to, able to get a run and fly for his marks, kicking snags.

Amiss v North ... multiple defenders, pack situations. Getting banged up. Tabs and him competing for same space and in same packs. (1.3 including some he should have kicked didn't help).

One factor on rewatching game - Cox was smart enough to occupy the zoning off defenders' attention and give Amiss more freedom. Perhaps wasn't his assignment but Tabs do not do this against North.

Two of them need to work better together, along with Josh who's been good both weeks.

And at times Tabs role needs to be our #2, #3, or #4 option inside 50 and he runs the associated leading patterns.

It's quite biased to say Taberner kicked 2 goals but it was "only against North's poor backline". If he kicks 2 against Adelaide on Friday will you say the same thing?

Versus Voss hypothetically kicking 2 goals if he played? Of course, that would have been "a very impressive debut".

Have you seen Adelaide's key defenders? It should be another good opportunity for our tall forwards to cash in.

However, I wouldn't be ranting and raving about Voss scoring 2 goals last week either. I'd be happy to see him get some reward but it's more a learning opportunity and an investment in someone who by the later stage of the season, I would expect to be streets ahead of Tabs efforts.

He's already placed himself ahead of Tabs and that's with a shortened pre-season and having to adjust to all our structures, patterns, players and ball movements. I would much rather invest in Voss than a bloke who turns 31 in a couple of months and has struggled against injury for the better part of his whole career. When his output is no better than Voss, it seems a clear cut decision and a wasted opportunity not to get Voss some games.

I'm always in favor of playing a player named Voss, Like I would pick a player called Simpson against WCE. If Tabs has a bad back he should not play against Adelaide. Erasmus or O'Driscoll if fit as should be at least sub although both need a full game of footy.

I always have argued Tabs on the wing might be his best position. In the forward line, unfortunately , he just seems to lack the awareness of space where key forwards are needing to run into, and he has this crazy ability to spoil our own team forwards by being out of position. What he does have is the ability to run and take some good contested marks, so up on the flank outside the 50 might be much better for him. Otherwise, get him in Bladerunner 3
