"Children of the Cornes" is a short story not written by Stephen King.
The story is about a Graham and Nicole who, ending up in Adelaide, start inhabiting it with children. There is not a lot to do in Adelaide.
Kane, Chad, Charlize, Amy and Gia are the children. Kane, who lost his power (football jumper) in 2015 finds himself without meaning to his life, or income. He embraces his dark side and begins to worship the income from wagering. Ultimately his demonic obsession with earning an income causes him to sell his soul to the Devil (lets call him Rupert, Satan never owned a newspaper) and he is forced into competition with like minded souls (lets call them Kim and Peter with Glen getting an honorary mention).
The story moves on with Kane slowly fading from the limelight with only with the rare literate Port Adelaide supporter uttering the memorable phrase. "Kane who".
There are unanswered questions in the story leaving the author ample room for sequels
Will Charlize, Amy and Gia change their names?
Will Chad emigrate?
Will Graham and Nicole change their names and emigrate?
