One supposedly good 18 yr old is not going to advance their cause by much.
I have a lot more faith in our 22 by a long shot to succeed compared to them.I think .
More than happy with our draft picks ,i think Cooper and Murphy who were touted to be picked higher,will be a standout for us .

Team would look a lot better with no Wagner, and either Chapman or Young ( as much as I like their inevitable move to the midfield) back to half back., give Erasmus or O Driscoll, ( cant believe we don't play Odriscoll more...) a 'good go' on the wing, and bring Simpson immediately in, ala, Brayshaw & Serong's opportunity..

And, if , Jack Deelan is a live wire small forward...get him in there at every opportunity..ie, rest Mikey every so often..

Morgan, we moved Young and Chapman up the ground, move Chapman back to the backline, add one of NOD/Sharp/Stanley to the wing and Wagner back to peel and I think they are pretty close.
If we do move Chapman up to the midfield, McDonald comes in and Ryan moves to the half back flank in place of Young/Chappy.

NPK, I think you're right. To me, Erasmus and Johnson are two of the four biggest swing players for Freo's 2024 season. If they can turn into productive midfielders to complement Brayshaw and Serong it will really help us. I can see it with Johnson, but I'm less convinced about Erasmus. My hope is that he's the type of midfielder where he needs a bit of size to really do his thing, and he'll get there in the next year or two.

The other two are Chapman and Fyfe. If Chapman really can play on a wing - and stay on the park - it would be really helpful to the balance of the team. On Fyfe, if we could get even get 12 good games from Fyfe it would make a world of difference. I'd love to see him used as a sub this year, at least for the first half of the season. I think he could swing some games for us, either as a midfielder (if we're getting beaten up), or as a forward (if it's not happening for us there).
