O’Meara was not treated any more or less fairly than other players because he’s a Docker. He executed a borderline dangerous tackle, and he may or may not end up with a week. It’s completely in keeping with other adjudications on this type of tackle.
It’s a difficult decision because it turns out that something as fundamental to our game as tackling can cause brain injuries, and there are so many variable in tackling. It will take years to get it right.
The same way it took years to get head high bumps out of the game. Johnno was the test case, but looking back now it’s a crude approach to the contest and the game is better without it.
