Morgan - I think the mob up the road tried that a few years back with Cousins, Kerr, Gardiner, etc, etc. That turned out well.

Morgan, Dusty, Toby Green and Dane Swan are the very type of player, with their off field associates, who you would slam the door on. Hogan is a long way from being in their company. I just think we overpaid for Hogan, as we did for Lobb, and the whole thing played out to the delight of the 7/West conglomerate.

I think overpaying is part of our brand, it certainly seems to attract those players who experience it.

We’ve a history of a lack of balance in the list to match positions, and desperate acts of recruiting to fill gaps, with a lot of poor outcomes.

Backline now seems good quality but for some reason are lacking confidence, and we’re missing key players on ball, mid field and in the forward forward line.

You could make a drama series out of the fall off, and hopefully rise we’re all hoping for.

Garlick’s got some work ahead of him sorting the mess out.

As much as I love our kids, it would be nice to have one with a bit of ratbag about them, like a Toby Green. Our recruiting is very beige, and we have sorted out anyone who may require a little, or a lot, of work to get to fit into the club environment. Think Bennell, McCarthy, Hogan. And I'm not thinking of getting guys like Tarryn Thomas who seems like a total dirtbag, just guys who might need a little bit of extra care and a hug every now and then like Jesse may have needed.
And I would definitely go big on Jeremy Sharpe, just because he hasn't played so far this season doesn't mean he's made hood. Remember Will Brodie had the same problem. I think Stuart Dew seems to take a dislike to certain players and once his minds made up there's no way he'll give them a game

Acres was exactly the wingman we needed and he should've been kept. If you're wondering "why didn't he play like that for us?", go back and rewatch the EL v Bullies before having a good chow down on some crow.

Mongrel? I miss Ballas. But yes, we don't have any "characters" in the team right now.

It was more like why didn't he play that more often not that he couldn't.
If we had enough soft cap in the coaching department I`m sure we could hire minders for the difficult to manage players.

I would subtract last weekend's stats from any analysis. Pretty much everyone on Carlton's list had 30 possessions. The opposition was worse than witches hats. At least with witches hats there's a slight tripping risk.

I dunno. Witches hats might trip you, but playing WC you’re at risk of getting hit by a flapping arm. Ask Andy Brayshaw how that ends up for you.

Take them down to East Fremantle oval, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

Now that I think of it, being in the members bar at that oval is a bit like being in that bar where they meet Han Solo and Chewy.

Freak show. Same jazz band and everything.
