So with Ratten sacked, one of two things are foremost in my mind.

i) St Kilda, just like Carlton so many years ago, have NFI about what they are doing because the Board has too many cliques.
ii) There is something about Brett Ratten that isn't public that the club knows about and we don't.

For the record, I'm leaning to my first thought. I have only heard of positive things coming from the players who have been under his tutelage.

It seems very unusual for it to happen at this time. Hopefully more details emerge tomorrow, from the outside it felt like he was doing ok with the list that they've got. Yze might yet get a chance!

On a side note, given that he had just signed an extension, are they bound to pay out two years of his contract?

What a coaching circus we are in. Another round of speculation and opinionating. And of course, we have the Clarkson/Fagan fiasco that has yet to be resolved. I've always believed that players make coaches anyway. I guess all this keeps footy front and centre until next season. What coach would take on the job for next year if they haven't had a say in trading and drafting?
