That's not true exceed. The OOFTIT's are not in a good place to deal for Jackson and we don't need to do any more than have a better offer at this stage which we easily do so why would we increase our current offer? That makes no sense.

This deal for Logue and Tucker is pretty bad, let alone the Acres deal. These picks are not worth what we've given up and rely heavily on North having another shocker of a year. We gave them up for the AFL's compensation picks which at best will be 20 and 39 if North finish bottom and there are no father-son/academy bids (there will be) while also handing them an upgrade on their 4th round pick.

I don't understand why we've been so quick to complete poor deals.

Freo66, there are a number of sides with academy selections who are likely high picks next season, GC have a few who will likely be quite high so they need to bank some points.

If they change the rules to allow NGA kids to be 20+ bids instead of 40+ that would be a lot more appropriate. Under the current system it's only really early father-son bids and GWS/Syd/GC/Bris academy kids who are relevant for accumulating points.

Considering Logue was a top 10 pick, has proved himself, and North are supposedly prepared to pay him 750-800k a year, we appear to have been paid peanuts for him. Why such a poor return?

Forget where he was drafted (think Schache, think Jack Watts etc) - he never lived up to that pick and is unlikely to do so. Down back he struggled to make good decisions and back them up with good skills. I reckon he provided the best value for Freo when he went forward and applied good physical pressure and a bit of chaos. You would want more for $7-800k and North clearly see him down back. Third defender at best I reckon - bit of a liability as one or two banana.
Great bloke though and I wish him all the best - got a great deal and took it.

No, I dont think the AFL know either..
The future 2nd could be either Norths actual future second dependent on where they finish or the future second they received for underperformance which I think was start of Round 2???
If we get the magical pick 19 again that would be pretty handy..

The compensation picks are based on North's position and occur AFTER North's pick. So if North finish bottom, they will have pick 19 and we will have 20 (barring father-son, academy and priority picks that may fall before it and push the selection lower).
