TOPIC: The AFL Swans

Bizkit The AFL Swans 1 year 6 months ago #15

McDonald signed a contract extension earlier in the season for another 4 years.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

But Biz we see players on contract being traded or asking to be traded all the time. Of course, the player may not want to leave but a good offer can persuade a change of mind. Logan would be returning to his home state. Surely with Buddy re-signing albeit for a year that is even more reason for us to make inquires and show some interest in this player. Other clubs do not hesitate to do this to players on our list.

It's 4 years, Sydney will never deal with us without a monster trade deal that cripples us. Not to mention, Logan hasn't given any indication he wants to head home to WA. Just offering McDonald a ridiculous amount of cash (that could also cripple us) is not enough.

Besides, we have Amiss.

It was 2 years. His manager is not silly.

Sydney couldn't match if Gulden was bid on before 20. I still think
Campbell hasn't lived up to the hype. Nobody "comes home' to Sydney, except Nick Davis. They have sod-all father-sons. Look at Geelong and see what a rort that is.

You're right, it was a 2yr extension which i wrongly thought had him tied to Sydney for 4 more years but was 3 years.

In 2020 the bidding process was still open with no restrictions regarding the top 20. Ugle-Hagan went at pick 1 as an academy player with Campbell (pick 5), Lachie Jones (pick 16), Reef McInnes (pick 23) and Blake Coleman (pick 24) also going as academy picks during the first round.

Freo threw everything at LM at the end of last year in the hope he wouldn’t extend and we would get him at the end of this season. He resisted and added another 2 years to his contract. His current contract expires at the end of 2024. He would cost too much draft capital to get him prior to that but you keep in his ear in the meantime.

I see Logan McDonald has been omitted for the Swans line up for the GF. He has been replaced by McLean. He's sliding down the list of preferred forwards at the Swans. We should persist with trying to get him as Boz suggests.
He will be an asset to our forward line particularly as Tabs is so vulnerable to injury. Amiss and McDonald would make a strong forward line in the future.

Buddy's got one year to go. I can't see why they would want to trade him.

They put too much weight on Logan too quickly in my view. How long it takes for him to get that truck rolling is anyone's guess - another year I reckon. But don't cry the blues because you've been omitted from the GF, your form wasn't worthy of selection.
