I am over the commentators comments on the MCG every ten minutes and the crowd.
Yes we know its at the MCG from the first bounce but its repeated and repeated with quotes such as the "Must be the Worlds Best Colosseum " followed by the crowd figure of the night.
The commentators must have reminder bell every ten minutes to mention the MCG and the crowd attendance.
Another thing that was the comments when a player kicked the ball.."His knowledge of ball to foot showed in that kick", " "His skill of seeing a team mate free" " What a amazing kick" and several players got this stat "His first kick in a Preliminary Final"
And several players got the stat of "First goal in a Preliminary Final"..in front of a massive 100,000 crowd at the magnificent MCG!

It’s an interesting comparison when you look at AFL commentators in comparison to other local or international sports.
The current trend in the AFL is towards maximum hyperbole and (faux) emotion, which I find ironic given the regular reference, by the same commentators, to the skill of Dennis Commetti. I don’t mind a bit of excitement from commentators but it has gone too far and is starting to take away from the enjoyment of watching a game.

The funniest is when Dwayne Russell carries on the same way covering NBL games. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy heading along to Wildcats games, but it's basically a glorified rec league by world standards.
