Josh Jenkins has written a very thoughtful article on the camp. He had a really tough childhood and felt forced to give up some stuff he probably wasn't ready to give up as part of the preparation for the camp. Can you imagine how traumatic that would be to have it repeated by strangers in a boot camp?
Jenkins explained the disparity in feedback about the camp - people who shared their trauma thought it a nightmare. Others who didn't, didn't.
