Re-watched it this morning, we held on with a bit of luck in front of goal admittedly, for over 8 minutes.

The team was knackered at the end.

Port Adelaide finished 2nd on the ladder last season and played in a preliminary final.

They had won 7 of the their last 9 games prior to going into this one. So they are a strong squad and it is not surprising they were able to get on top for parts of the game and kick multiple consecutive goals in the 1st and 4th quarters.

When a team gets a run on it can be hard for even the best teams to stop as shown when we kicked 8.2 in 3rd quarters against the Demons and 6.2 against Brisbane. But we need to find a way to put the brakes on the other team when this starts to happen as it has featured in our losses to Pies, GC and Carlton

Overall thought it was an entertaining game and very relieved walking out of there last night with the 4 points.

Yep - Port are a good side. I still think they'll play finals. We did well to get such a big lead, but they came home really well. It is a credit to us that we hung on when we could have folded.

They've won seven games and there are seven left, so they would have to win every game left to even make the finals. You're expecting them to beat Melb. Geel, Coll and Rich, some away of course. Plus a stack of teams above who have already won more games than them, to lose most of their remaining games too.
