Is “homesickness “ something that has been raised by Jackson? Everything I’ve seen in the Vic media suggests he’s very happy in Melbourne. If that’s the case then it would take a huge offer move him to either team in WA.

"Meek is developing nicely , he will be a very good player for us ( IMO )."

How and where? He's not a forward and he's never going to get a game before Darcy.

So where is Connor Blakely? One of the top possession getters for Peel across the last few weeks - vanished, not on the injury list or anything...

Walter, I'm not sure the Vic media has spent much time around Jackson's family and friends but that would be a good place for them to start questioning Jackson's intentions rather than his contracted Melbourne media interviews.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Of course I rate what we have done with our squad in recent years, some hard decisions were made and likely more will follow. And so people making this decision get some leeway from me. But personally, I don't like chasing Jackson hard. At all. He is clearly earmarked on potential still, and everything I see has him enjoying Melbourne living and football personally. The money being touted sends the wrong message to players in our squad (and not just the like-for-like options) currently performing at levels better than Jackson if you ask me. Who knows what Darcy thinks of this for one. With rucks falling like flies this year, the currency of Meek is sadly huge, and I see him as a key plank to keep.

If you don't think Jackson is worth $7/800K then I don't know what to tell you. Similarly if players are doing a Lachie Neale about contracts instead of playing for the club, then they should probably be out the door. We've brought in a lot of high quality people who have created a great culture at the club headlined by the likes of Brayshaw and Serong, I can't see any of them kicking up a stink.

You'll always be able to get a bigger contract by walking out on your club so if you're playing purely for money, go for it. There's nothing to stop those players trying to earn as much as they want and they can go for it. I like to think our players are playing for more than that.

Media reports over the last 24hrs have other Vic clubs offering Jackson $1M per season to switch clubs while Freo have reportedly offered around $700K and Melbourne slightly less than that. Paying Jackson $700K is not outrageous and shouldn't be seen that way by others at Freo who have freshly inked contracts. Also, a lot of those media reports have labeled Sumich's figures as 'complete rubbish' because they are too ridiculous even for them to run with.

I think just about every club with room would offer what we are suggestively in the market for; he is premium property- that's not the problem. Its how much harder than that we go to close a deal. That could upset the apple cart. I am not attaching any credence to Sumich's stupendous numbers.

The latest trade rumours have us offering somewhere around $100K more than Melbourne and $300K less than other Vic clubs so I wouldn't think anyone would be upset at his market price. Even less so when Lobb has been on $800K per season to pry him out of GWS.

Just wondering what Sean Darcy is on? I wouldn't want Jackson getting more than him as he is the guy who is the heart and soul of our on ball division along with Brayshaw, Serong, Brodie and others and is top 2 or 3 in rucks at the moment. Made Jackson look like an amateur last time we played Melbourne
For the record I'd quite happily pay Jackson $700 to $800,000 as long as it's not more than we're paying Hodor

Gumnut, with Gawn gone, he is probably ranking in the top 1 of the rucks going round at the minute. (and probably that before gawn went.)
