MUNDY INJURY CONCERN.
David Mundy’s 19th season at Fremantle may face a delayed start after a pre-Christmas training injury threw a massive spanner in his 2022 preparations.
The West Australian understands the 36-year-old sustained a significant ankle injury in the Dockers’ final training session of the year last week, limping off the track at Cockburn.
There are fears Mundy will be sidelined for at least two months.
Mundy is coming off another brilliant season where he led Fremantle’s Brownlow Medal votes, finished second in the club’s Doig Medal fairest-and-best award behind ruckman Sean Darcy, and broke long-term teammate Matthew Pavlich’s record 353 games for the Dockers.
The midfield veteran has been required to use crutches and is believed to be in doubt for the start of the season.
