It's disappointing none of you are talking about Basil, I thought he had a really great week.
I have to be up front - love the man. My type. Favourite Hale School boy, top five definetly. He solved the deeply complex and utterly tragic state of the homeless and destitute in Perth City. Now they are homeless and destitute in the suburbs, thanks Baz. Imagine having a Grand Final parade and there are homeless people around the place!
Everyone stood up and clapped simultaneously, unprompted and straight from the heart at 20 minutes, 5 seconds in. So good, so authentic. Just like Basil.
Some were taking a dump at this time but they were clapping too. We all have Basil's clap, spread the word.
And who on earth wants to hear from the winning coach and captain after the game? No-one. And the dramatic pauses in announcing players onto the dias......so good cause they don't get called up in numerical order, really left me on the edge of my seat, my bus seat - was the last one of the evening and we hadn't got to Charlie Spargo yet. Was hoping he could sneak Tommy Cole in for a medal too, but it wasn't about the Eagles today. Oh no.
And finally I loved how he called out the Noongar people of this land and acknowledged their great contribution to his country.
If I'm John Inverarity looking down in heaven (is he dead) I'm really proud of what this young man (I'm sure Inverarity is dead) has become.
Next Liberal Party leader for sure. Bless Basil, spread the word.
