I really hope Cerra doesnt decide on Melb.
Forget the options thrown around - Luke Jackson is the only one we would accept with their first pick being 30.
There is zero chance either Melb let him goes or he wants to come anyway..
In the slim chance he does, Melb (and related ES media) will bend us over and lose all our draft capital this year plus Cerra.

Now hopefully he chooses Carl or Rich and we get pick 6/7 (live 8/9) and a bit more.
Then we use that pick to get Mac Andrew. (pick 9 in recent Cal Twomey draft with no opportunity to play any more prior to draft)
Melb cant match even though he is in their academy as it inside the Top 20 (same as Jesse Motlop)
He appears freakish and ahead of Jackson at the same age.
Then we get the same player and if they want to swap down the track so be it.
He could be a once in a generation player.

Jackson was far ahead of Mac Andrew at the same age. Andrew is rated a top 10 pick on potential, not output. Jackson was racking up good numbers throughout his 2 years prior to being drafted.

Andrew would be outside my top 20 at present.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

fair call Biz - We all see it different - If I recall you were all over Brander in his draft

I think they are a bit similar.. Mac Andrew is a bit raw but Luke Jackson was also.. Jackson only really concentrated on footy in the last season or two before getting drafted, before that he was a basketballer if I remember correctly..
I am pretty keen on Mac Andrew.. He actually looks to have good skills for a big man.. He will need to get in the squat rack because those legs are the skinniest I have seen on a human being!

Everyone assumes Jackson is ungettable but what if he does want to come home end of next season when his contract expires? Melbourne would be aware of his intentions as I suspect they’ve had such a discussion given they’re so keen on Cerra. Why then wouldn’t they consider him in a trade for Cerra if he’s going home anyway in twelve months time? Maybe I’m dreamin’

Yeah Brander was one I liked as a tall if we went that way along with Fogarty however with two top 5 picks, he was never particularly likely for us. LDU and Stephenson were the ones I legitimately spoke about around our picks. However I've since gone back on Stephenson having learnt more about his character.

Jackson played both footy and basketball, eventually choosing football. He was always playing AFL and in all the representative squads dominating.

Mac Andrew has a much smaller sample size and has done some impressive things while looking lost quite often. At his size and athletic profile he could be very good but he needs a lot of development to get there. For mine, he's much more speculative than a top 10 pick should be. He's high risk/high reward. I'd prefer a host of others ahead of him.

Yeah fair enough.. I thought he rucked well against Darcy Fort in that trial game against Geelong's VFL side.. At the centre bounces he was jumping over the top like Paddy Ryder or Nic Nat.. Those centre square clearances are crucial in todays footy

So let me get this straight, Cerra gets to nominate his club? What's free agency then?

Don't think he gets to choose, but he can say who he'd prefer to get too. Then Freo try and make it happen. Otherwise he goes to the draft if Freo can't get a deal done. I think. Hence Carlton are most likely to get him.
