Interesting round of finals so far. Highlighting the value of an intercepting defender. Aliir Aliir was simply amazing on Friday night. May and Lever are a big reason that Melbourne are premierships faves. Sam Taylor has been superb for the Giants. So much momentum and energy is stolen from the opposition every time these guys take an intercept mark. All of them have been a delight to watch this weekend, moreso than the acclaimed midfielders.

No doubt West Coast have their eyes on Taylor (a fine WA product) to bring him home in time to replace McGovern, whose time left in the game seems limited.

That's amusing frankmac, that West Coast are paying 1.2 mill a year for McGovern and locked in for two more years. Hogging the salary cap.

(When I first read your post, I thought you were saying that Sam Taylor is locked in for 2 more years at the Giants on 1.2 mill. )
