There is a charge for ‘attempting to strike an umpire’ which is a ‘straight to the Tribunal charge’. I imaging that could have been triggered had Greene been deemed to have walked aggressively towards the umpire who jumped out of the way to avoid contact.

There’s also a fine for behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire.

To me contact was minimal but combined with his body language and overall demeanor, he's gone for three in a final series. It was very much a "did he make contact" judgement.

Honestly, if Stevic said he didnt make contact, wonder if it would have been a fine. And if that's the case then he's essentially getting three weeks for something that was quite innocuous. Things would stand up better if he got weeks regardless of contact. For conduct.

Do you actually think that someone will bump an umpire because Toby Greene got 3 weeks but will then not to it because he got 6 weeks?

I don't think its about 'bumping' umpires.

I think it's about the AFL showing they won't condone deliberate umpire contact and I don't have an issue with that. When my nephew pulls on his fluro green on the weekend and tries to umpire a group of kids twice his size, I'd like to think the organization in charge of things has his back a little bit.
