The ground has witnessed eight league premiership celebrations as well as bizarre moments such as the infamous pig’s head match against Subiaco in 2006 when coach David Dunbar introduced an unorthodox motivational tool to the pre-game routine.
Dunbar placed a frozen pig’s head on a stake at the top of the player race and ordered his players to stab it with knives supplied to them as they ran onto the field.
The move was eventually banned by an injury-conscious administrator, leaving the bloody head to thaw outside the changerooms, but it is sure to be a major conversation topic at the ground celebrations tomorrow.
