Based on last night’s tv appearance he didn’t sound like he was keen to go through a “process”. He has either been spooked by the mess that is Carlton or he wanted to walk in without being question. The well accepted appointment of McRea at Collingwood may also have convinced Carlton that they need to be seen to have some integrity behind their choice rather than another quick fix misfire.

Maybe he figured out that he gets well paid for a bit part in a Sitcom (talking footy or whatever it is) and doesn’t have to do any work like he did for his last 4 years at Freo.

I don’t know where the hype around Ross Lyon stems from, but if he’s looking for a buck, snake oil salesmen, sky hook retailers and striped paint developers are in desperate need of some fresh ideas.

It’s amazing how him not getting the job at Carlton was turned in to a win for him. Aarrrggghh I forgot how good he was.

I don't think he turned it into a win. He's very lazy and thought he could talk his way into a job at Carlton without doing any work. He thought they were another Fremantle.

He has been found out now. No one will give him a coaching job without putting him through a selection process and he is too lazy now to go through one. He's stuck in a second teir media gig. Won't be long before he's putting on silly wigs and trying to stretch out a handball competition till the ad break.
