If we ever get our injury list sorted out and reduced there could be some interesting discussions at the selection table. It’s not that we have a lot of A graders but picking the second half of the team starts to become tricky. Who are the unlucky players who miss out? Based on recent history, Blakely and Watson are not in the coaches best 22. Henry might be in the future but is struggling at the moment. Cerra may not be here. But then it gets tricky. The usual escaped goats of Aish and Colyer are certainly carrying their weight and deserve a place. At a minimum we somehow we have to fit in Cox, Chapman, Fyfe, Brayshaw, Walters, Wilson and maybe Hughes. Hamling is another possible starter. Then we get to younger players who we have banked on to improve like Sturt and Fredrick. Acres and Conca may be getting a bit nervous.
We’ll never have a fully fit list but I’d love to see the coaches best 22 if we did.
