Genuinely sad to see him finished. I don’t think people outside will ever appreciate how good he was. Will always be grateful that I got to see him play.
Good luck Hilly. Given the way he went about his career I doubt we will see much more of him in the future.

I have a lot of 'favourite' Freo players but Hilly is special. So sad to see him go, but we were lucky to see him play so many wonderful games and he is a player, and person, who epitomizes the Freo spirit. I was in denial for most of this season, believing that somehow Hilly would get back on the park before the end, but sadly not to be. I don't know how many times I've watched the video of that magic moment against Geelong - gives me a thrill every time, but there were lots of other highlights. Such an exciting player to watch.

I wish him all the best for the future, and hope he can remain part of the club in some capacity.

Two things about Hilly's goal in Geelong. I was too nervous to sit, so when Q4 started, I was standing, and then running on the spot with Hilly as he ran towards the goal. Then, after jumping around like a maniac, I jumped online and bought my GF flight to Melbourne knowing that there was no way we were going to lose to Sydney in the prelim. Thanks for those memories Hilly and your great career. All the best for the future.

The ultimate left footer, even when opponents knew what he was going to do, they were still mesmerised. And a lot stonger mentally and physically than the experts from the east gave him credit for. As he showed when Lyons style forced him to play in tight.

So disappointed we couldn’t give him the farewell to footy that he deserved.
That goal on the run and bounce against Geelong was such an important moment for all Freo fans. Hilly lifted us and that year we got so close to touching the Holy Grail.

When our entire team was butchering the ball, Hill could be relied upon to hit a target inside 50 with absolute precision.
