A number of years ago I was at a Nicky Winmar carnival talking with one of Freo's best (and most loved) Indigenous legends. A flashy kid on the field found his way though traffic, kicked an amazing goal and came running up the boundary celebrating. To a one, including the bloke I was next to, everyone turned their back on the kid as he ran past. I asked "What gives?" - his answer was "He's been playing with his elbows up all game, that's not how we play the game he'll hurt someone like that."
Two weeks is generous, save me the 'it was a footy action' baloney.
