Though I agree with Malthouse about Freo trying to get a good outcome, his reasoning seems to be that players are basically commodities. I think the reasoning that players ‘owe’ clubs who drafted them is a bit outdated. especially for top 5 picks. If they owe the clubs anything, it’s to ensure they don’t leave the club high-and-dry if they do leave.

What i do agree with is if a player nominates a club it’s not our job to ensure that trade if a better outcome for the club can be achieved by trading to a different club.

Mundy may not be in our next grand final team but that doesn’t mean he is not involved in developing the team next year.

I suspect there’s a few more that will not be at the club next year rather than Mundy, through injury or performance.

Like many/most articles on football both are options and you know what they say about opinions.

I like the point about nominationing for a national draft not a home state draft. Cerra offered his services and a Perth club accepted.

Malthouse makes good points but they don't apply to Cerra. I think he'll stay.

Whilst these kids get depression and family members get ill, both valid reasons to get back home. I also agree it's a bit of a weakness in their make up if they want out because of other reasons.
