TOPIC: The run home

While we are currently in the eight we have played an extra game. We have 8 wins and will likely need at least 12 to make finals.
Based on current ladder positions we have a tough run home if we are to get 4 more wins. It’s doable but we will have be at our best. On the upside, subject to the location of the Sydney game, (which is unlikely to be in NSW) we might even get 5 straight home games.

-Geelong (tough game but it’s in Perth which helps)
-Swans (tough based on Sydney’s current form but they may be negatively impacted by COVID scheduling over the next few weeks)
-Richmond (winnable and at home)
-Brisbane (tough but again it’s a home game)
-WCE (a big game that might determine the bottom part of the eight. Hopefully WCE don’t recover from their current form)
-Saints (winnable but it is an away game, also the Saints form is impossible to predict)

Right now is about savouring Gerard reiterating that we've pushed West Coast down into 8th position.

There are clubs in the AFL that have never been hit with even half of the s**tstick that the AFL cover drives at Fremantle each year. The fixture is always compromised, but never in this way. Cov has forced the AFL's hands and some of these clubs are crying and vulnerable. This scheduling is nothing new to Fremantle, they just need to-

Very tough. Separates the men from the boys.
Dress rehearsal for our finals assault!! Next week on Thursday will be an indication of our chances. Lots of home games from now on helps.

The weekends results have been a bonus.

GWS lose .... tick
Richmond lose ..... tick
WCE lose .....tick

We might have used the Steve Bradbury model to get into the eight but now it’s up to us to win against tough opponents in order to stay there.

Eagles media alert
“The seas parted for the Dockers in round 17 and they moved from 10th to eighth at the end of the round”– Nathan Schmook

AFL.com, /the run home- six into two -posted 0700 13/07/21.

Hold your horses everyone, the ladder has to be amended to suit Schmookies razor sharp reporting.

We didn't Steve Bradbury anything. Teams were level. We won and they lost. Now we're in front. If we lose and they win, we'll be behind. I know it can get confusing but that's how these things work.

I am not filled with hope looking at those fixtures. Some tough opponents there. To start with Geelong will be playing in the sort of conditions that they should really like. We've played some good footy, and I'm keen to see how we go against the good sides, but I can't see it working out any better than our games against Melbourne or the Bulldogs.

Except for the game against WC. Earlier this season I said we'd beat them in the next Derby. I'm feeling more positive about this now.

I don't want to be the prophet of doom or anything but remember this is Fremantle we are talking about. The team that regularly loses games it should win, and wins games it should lose. It's a lottery and anything can happen, it's the Fremantle way. Just sit back and enjoy the ride or alternatively be prepared to use lots of expletives towards the TV.
I have been doing this since 1995.

Just sit back and enjoy the ride. I've been doing it since 1995.

Me too, but I wouldn't say it's the best ride I've ever been on, and unfortunately the enjoyable parts have been outweighed by the not enjoyable.

Let's hope that change is a comin'
