Another big test for the club. It butchered last week and if it loses again on Saturday serious thought is required as to are we really going in the right direction or if we are is it too slow.
All I can say is while banfield is picked to play , longmuir will be heading the club in the wrong direction

The selection of Banfield is certainly a surprise but he has played some great games in the past and he does bring some real toughness to the team so good luck to him I hope he takes advantage of this last opportunity as I think it will be his last otherwise. I can only presume that selectors are taking a cautious approach with Young and Hughes which I can understand but hopefully both go well for Peel and are back to face Geebung. Great to see Hill back for Peel Reserves also.

Banfield played his best footy in his 1st year as a tagger. If thats going to be his role, I'd be really happy . Would free up Serong to be a player other teams have to watch, rather than him watching others.

If Hughes & Young are to come in in the coming weeks, (I'm not sure that Hilly is in that equation)....I would have thought Acres out put would have to be questioned....? Colyer certainly would be in the firing line, but Acres has a few question marks for mine....

I think the only justification for Acres staying in the team is as the back-up ruckman which he seems to be called upon as each week. His output otherwise is average at best. Colyer is way over-rated I would rather give his spot to Walker, Western or Gero anyday.

I'm not liking the fact that we are somehow the favorites to win in Tassie this week. we've only won 1 game there.

I'm a powerful jinx when I bet (casinos should hire me as a cooler), so in the best interests of the team I'll sacrafice $20 backing Hawthorn to beat Freo this week (you can all thank me saturday arvo)

We need a decent start. Our first quarters against both collingwood and carlton were very poor. I hope Banfield has a good game as he is still young and his best was good enough a few years ago. He should be approaching his prime and is one of a few players that will be playing for contracts at the moment.

A big danger game tomorrow. Tassie has been a graveyard, the team has been away for a couple of weeks, and there is little to play for. Longmuir is a very good coach and we seem to claw our way back into games that the old Freo would fold in. I can't recall a game where they have given up the ghost this year but the team still lacks class across the lines to match the best teams.

It's going to be literally freezing Saturday morning in Launceston, and might barely crack 10 degrees for the start of the game. The only thing colder is our start to our first quarters. Put the two together and we could be down 10 goals before our blokes get the feeling back in their hands.

Selection of the 22nd man in our team is the least of our concerns. I want to know what we plan to do to get our guys switched on and warm before the bounce.
