Walker was good, provided some great run out of defensive 50, was a pity our players didn’t give it back to him as he had kept running to provide an option.
Western looked overawed by the occasion.
Pearce is our best lockdown tall defender.

The hilarious thing for me was the 'experts' on the ABC after the game making excuses for gold toast. Both of their experts are former slime players, so not a clue between them.

It seems that gold toast have a young team, who are struggling with attending training and having to travel and that impacts on their game. Plus, they were being forced to play against a mature side in Fremantle.

I'm not actually sure if they were and younger or less experienced that Freo but I do know that don't do anywhere near the traveling that Freo does. Still, when you pick your experts from a rampant drug culture, you're not going to get too much in the way of intelligent input.

Was listening to the ABC’s mid-season wrap before the game, the panel were talking about why they thought neither Port or the Eagles were in the flag hunt.
They’d spent a bit of time on Port, then moved to the Slime.
Suddenly Mark Mclure blurted out “No chance - too much Charlie”.

The shocked silence was exquisite.

(Turns out the poor old bugger had drifted off and was still talking about Port and their over-dependence on Charlie Dixon, but we knew what he was saying...)

Went to the game.
Darcy was awesome again and Walker showed great poise and skill for a first gamer.

Mundy was his usual nonchalant brilliant self who made some centre clearances when we needed them.

Treacy will only get better after realising he’s up to the job and his clunking marks and something we’re not used to, he can kick straight …most of the time.

Alex Pearce played well and made it through the game…you beaut.

I think having Fyfe out made some players step up because they had to.

The future is looking good.
