The standard just seems to be getting worse and worse every year. I'm not sure what they can do to improve it but it's costing us too many games. The WAFL really need to take action.

Agreed, Shane, I turned it off in disgust.

Bur WAFL umpiring has always been 'dodgy' and they pass that on to each generation (I shared a house with a league ump for a few years and saw them operate close at hand) When one of them shook your hand, you had to count your rings...and your fingers...and sometimes, your relatives.

Mind you, that works depot in the northeast pocket is pretty speccy - big new shed, stacks of scaffolding, a few forklifts - kind of inspiring in a funny kind of way. Better than a forty year old pile of brickies sand? Not my call to say - certainly unique, and if you ever had to move a few pallets around it's good to know there's a forklift close at hand.

Speaking of wooden pallets, how good was Huge Dixon today - booted three or four long-range goals for Ol' Easts.

They had to keep expanding it because they have a tradition where all the premiership teams do a parade around the boundary.

Presumably the redeveloped ground will take the death rate into account.

I'm sure I counted 19 steps to Dixon's walk in on the set shot before he broke into a stride to kick the ball after another 9-10 strides. I reckon he should have had to bounce it somewhere in the middle.
