My goodness am I the only one who didn't know the aboriginal flag is subject to copyright.

I thought it was a reference to the Union Jack and felt the slogan didn't hit the mark.

Ffs how can you own the rights to a flag. Who would have sold it?

The truly bizarre aspect of all of this is that indigenous organisations have been sued by non-indigenous companies for using the flag on products that go to support people in need.

It just sits very badly with me that there are people in this country that cannot use a flag that represents them while others, with no emotional contact, can make a dollar.

Just another example of how we have a legal system but definitely not a justice system.

Give the creator a fair price, take flag and make it available to the people it represents.

If my tax dollars can go into providing staff, offices, flights etc for cretins like the One Braincell Party, they can go to the creator and I'd be happy as larry with that. I wasn't suggesting stealing it but use our resources to buy the copyright and give it back to the people.

Don't tell me this country doesn't owe those people. This is just a down payment.

the Federal Government could forcibly acquire the rights but would have to pay the current owners a motza and they’d then give it back to the people for nada. Not really Sco Mo’s “vibe”.
