I was after that sarcastic reply that RM wants to put on his own post. Your love for Sonny is something else but he had another night to forget. That miss when we were on a big comeback was inexcusable.
And Schultz looked like he was playing through injury? He must have been injured for quite awhile then because it was no different to his form in the last few weeks.
Colyer the link up player i don't get either. It's the midfielder's job to provide the link ups and the forwards to kick goals, something he rarely does, and if he is providing good link up then it's certainly not resulting in goals down the ground.
And sorry Lobb was a dud last night. Without Tabs we really needed him to step up and he didn't. Flew a lot but took one good mark that I can remember. And that hook shot from about thirty metres out that missed everything by about ten metres was embarrassing.
At the other end with the same greasy conditions Naughton put on a masterclass of marking. Luckily for us he couldn't kick straight. Treacy's marking under similar conditions was also better than Lobb's.
Our forward line is a mess. Loved Treacy's game last night, and great to see Henry starting to believe in himself and looking dangerous. But the fact that our two youngest players got so little support is not good enough.
Lobb, Walters and Schultz have had one good game each this year where they've kicked a few. Crowden, Colyer and Switkowski rarely kick goals. Tabs is always good for a goal or two, but never a bag.
We don't have a long kicking midfielder or a midfielder we can throw forward to kick goals like good sides do.
Saying all that our game style doesn't help. We are so slow getting the ball forward, holding up play, etc that the forward line is always crowded with no room to move. And as much as we didn't like smug Roly saying our skills haven't improved, he's right, they haven't. Mundy and Cerra are about only good deliverers to the forwards.
