We didn’t dominate Brisbane either. We were dominated and kicked junk goals after half time.
Watched the first 4 points today and knew the rest.
Goal kicking is now terminal. I hope we can sort this out so we can actually start to understand where we are at.

We were beaten in the centre bounces in the first quarter, and because we didn’t kick straight.
Several times JLO has turned it around after a break. It suggests that the opposition have done their homework, and our players aren’t clever enough to adjust. And we aren’t good enough to give opponents a big head start.

And today I saw why Blakey is not a first choice selection. He makes bad choices under pressure, and I don’t think you can coach that out of him.

There’s a reason the club couldn’t move him on last year when they tried to.

We can’t drop Cox because we have no defenders but he is definitely an issue. He has complete brain freeze moments which cost us goals .
He is better off as a floating defender than a one on one player.
Tobe is not strong enough one on one yet.
I reckon Treacy could play as a defender until he develops his forward craft.
Wish Crowden could get more of the ball. He uses it well and is a great shot on goal. He is a little sow though.
We are a crap tackling team and that’s why we are not a finals team as the moment.
We need some animals.

I didn’t watch a lot of the game today but what I did see we got smashed out of the centre early.
Walters started in there last week and had his best game of the year.
Blakely can’t get a game, I’m positive he could be accountable when we lose ascendency around the contest.
I’m going to get jumped on but I think Serong is struggling a bit this year. I’m not suggesting dropping him but we need other options in the guts.

If our forward line is like the Bunnings checkouts, then couldn't we have some of our behinds rescanned as goals?
And Blakely gets hands on the ball. Not many of our dudes were doing that in Q1.

I was just reviewing the first qtr vision in the coaches box and then the 2nd qtr vision in the coaches box to see what was going on.
Can any one explain to me where all the KFC came from in the 2nd QTR???

Two things the team needs to work on after yesterday's game are the tackling, and the desire to play on close to goal after a free kick is given. The tackling was terrible against Port. They have alot of big, solid guys and we seem to have a fair few smaller guys, but the number of tackles that didn't stick would have to have been a team high for the year. They were just bouncing off the Port players. And playing on from a free kick, when the recipient is only 15 metres from goal is just brain dead football and has cost us a few goals in the last couple of weeks. This team can't afford that.

The usual Blakely escaped goat comment surfaces after a loss as if he single-handedly caused another loss. I'll give my usual plug.

In his extremely limited game time he averages more disposals than Crowden and nearly as many as Switkowski. They all average under a goal a game, and virtually the same clearances, as does Acres.

I also feel for two blokes that are the same height and three kilos difference in weight the hardness at the ball between he and Acres is huge.

Acres is a major frustration.

Im not buying it till I know exactly how much is in him.

And for the record, can we please restrict calling him Blakey until the lead up to Christmas?
