What we were taught. As kids. Pick your target behind the goals. Hold the footy over your kicking foot. Start your run in off your kicking foot. Look at your target, then WATCH THE BALL ONTO YOUR BOOT. Follow through with your kick.
The emphasis was emphasized by our coaches most strongly. Have Fyfe, Lobb & co gone back to those basics, right back, stripped down their kicking action and rebuilt it? I would not be surprised if they don't have the time, but 1 hour a day at training for these fellas would not take anything away from the rest of their game. The banana, dribble, screw kick and all the rest of the flashy stuff is part of the warm up, warm down and muck around routines and should stay there until you have no other option on game day.
