I reckon Cerra will leave to play the temp in the US version of the office.

If Cerra does decide he wants to go back east. I'd swap with the tigers for Shai Bolton in a heart beat, they're only one year appart in age and Bolton is a jet. That would be a win win trade.

Only if Cerra wants to leave ,I'm more than happy for him to stay. I just don't want to pick another kid up in the draft only to have them leave like Weller and Langdon did.

For some reason Tom Browne rubs me the wrong way, but this is his latest take on Cerra.
IF true, Richmond may be a good outcome for Freo when it comes to getting best value from any trade.

Premierships are built on drafting young talent
Trade value is false economy that keeps a few fans a temporary high.
Richmond don’t have the draft picks Freo want.
Freo don’t get value at the right time from a Bolton deal.

"Freo don’t get value at the right time from a Bolton deal."

How's that? Similar age and value?

It's a Lennon-McCartney thing with Cerra - without Brayshaw he may team up with a Yoko for some interesting stuff, but more likely he'll end up with some am radio middle of the road Wings things.

I think he should consider things.

The thing that annoys me the most about these conversations in the media is where they seem to think we have to give up more to make the deal work. IF a possible swap eventuate for Cerra and Bolton, they are both guns, it should be a straight swap yet I saw a media person suggest last week that a good deal would be Bolton for Cerra AND a first round pick. Why? They are both guns. Cerra was a high first round pick and Bolton a later pick who has developed into a gem but looking at their initial draft positions maybe we should be getting something extra in the deal even if it's a later pick that we can use to better our Draft scenario.

Gumnut, I think you need to understand that you are trying to understand the media.

People can get hurt doing this. It is almost a form of Stockholm Syndrome!

Can someone clarify what happens if Cerra wants to move to Richmond and he is out of contract. My understanding (which I'm testing here) is that the two clubs can arrange a trade (draft picks and/or players). If that cant be arranged he goes into the pre-season draft and takes his chances, with any club able to pick him up if they match his contract demands. This would leave him at risk of going elsewhere as Richmond will be way down in the draft order. Is that correct? If so, Freo would hold a good hand unless Cerra wants to go to North Melb or Carlton.

Maybe Freo should slice his contract in 2, and reduce the term to 2 years... maybe the 4 year thought is scaring him.... I remember back when I was at Uni. The thought of being there for 3 years seemed like an eternity, but after 4 years, I didn't want to leave the place.

Came across this yesterday. (second post down 10th June -7.32am). Despite not many supporters even knowing who he was, the best comment is this: "...If Sumich and Tom Browne are calling it, he’s definitely staying at Freo..."

The campaign has already started in the East.
They re-ranked the 2017 draft yesterday and Cerra was 12 - PLEASE!
Clearly written by a Richmond fan..
