I wish you were right Polly but what is it about the last Derby that makes you think we are travelling better than WC (and please don’t highlight our injuries because they had plenty of there own)?

We were able to resist the temptation to mashup some kid's shoulder repeatedly.

I look at their team, their supporters, their admin, their mascot, their song and their bouncy-castle entrance thingy and there is nothing that doesn't prompt ridicule and loathing in me. Not one thing.

But that's just me - I know where I sit and I'm perfectly ok with it.

I wish at the next Derby we hire a monster truck and drive all over their bouncy castle and blow black smoke at thier cheers squad. It would be nice to chase the eagle mascot around with it too!

See, now there's a good idea - creative and to the point, bound to be a real crowd pleaser. If we were prepared to give up a couple of email graphic designers we could employ ideas people like that.

I will probably be labelled a heretic and burnt at the stake for this but I think the club lost its soul after Hart, Schwab and Connolly left. Hart was a president who really cared for the club and showed it. Schwab and Connolly knew how to engage with supporters and make you feel you were part of something, Schwab even occasionally posted on this bulletin Board. In terms of supporter engagement weve gone backwards since.
The Steves and Roly were diabolical, This new mob havent done any thing to build trust with me, Im rusted on but gee I feel neglected like a war bride who finds the yank she met at the dance has a family back in Brooklyn..

Yep, you have to earn respect and better fixturing by winning games, unless you're Carlton.

I’m not feeling neglected just gutted we’re losing winnable games, just like we did when that other bloke was coaching.

Im not sure if we lost our soul but we are probably going to lose Mundy, Son son, Steven Hill and maybe Cerra, in the next year or so.
Ok.....not Mundy, hes still got 4 or 5 yrs left.

Anyone thinking we are automatically going to go past the Wet Toast because Hurn and Kennedy might retire, when they have Allen, Darling, Waterman and Brander up their sleeves, is truly rusted on.

Losing Cerra will really put us back. Lets hope the kid stays. This is a big moment for the club.

Surely we are not going to recruit him, Shane, he had a few good games for Geelong, sure, but as a consistent long term prospect, I would prefer Clinton Wolf.

I don’t subscribe to Garlic only being in the job a few years and giving him much more than a few months grace period to get his feet under the table. These cats get paid superstar dollars to be superstars, from day one.

If we’re going to allow them a few years to figure it out, then pretty much every person that posts on dockerland would have more than enough nous to achieve the same.

Garlic is the big boss, start doing some big bossy type stuff. We’re getting smacked on field and our performance off field (injuries, media, fixtures, etc) is even worse.

Be a big boss, do big bossy things and make a difference that generates wins, that should be his KPI. In fact, outside of not going broke in the process, the whole organization should have one focus, winning games of football. God I hate corporate.

Don’t worry everyone. Soon the season will
be over, we will finish between 9th & 11th and then there’s everyone’s favourite time - preseason. The time we dream of what Freo could be the next season. We dream of no injuries, improvements across all lines and of course new recruits playing like they are 100 gamers. We will beat west coast in another pre season match then the season proper will start. We will play some good footy, some absolutely terrible footy, lose what we should win, pull a few out against some contenders, only to finish outside the 8 again. Has anything changed since 2016?

Actually quite a lot Clinical.
We have the third best ruckman in the comp aged 22.
If Cerra stays, we have a core midfield to build on with Cerra, Mumbles, Serong and Fyfe that can match anyone and is already doing that much of the time.
We found another AA backman with Luke Ryan to join the known finals- quality backmen Pearce and Hamling.
We`ve recruited an elite kicker in the back line with Young and an inspector gadget who will be very good overhead with Chappie.
Tabs has finally developed into a top 10 in the AFL key position forward and we have a fleet of speedsters to develop with Liam, Freddie and Western and a mongrel chaser with real character in Shultz .
Our two veterans Son Son and Mundy are offering priceless leadership.
We also have a coach that seems to answer questions honestly, has strong views but listens to feedback and certainly changes his mind and his tactics as time goes by ie he learns. I dont see JLo consistently make the same mistakes week in week out.
We are about 3 players and a couple of mended calf injuries short of a playing regular finals.

Anyway thats what I keep telling myself. Now Ive got to go and put on the rain jacket, lose my voice and let it rip at Optus. Go Boys!!
