I love how petty this dispute has become. I also love that there are good points to be made for each side, meaning each feels like the aggrieved party. It could go on forever.

Personally, I think the prison bar jumper is a ripping jumper, and the AFL is richer for having it pop up in its competition from time-to-time. For all the entrenched advantages the Victorian clubs benefit from, having an SA team wear a jumper once or twice a year for a game few in Victoria watch seems like a pretty peculiar fight to pick.

But what I mostly love is this picture of Kochie debasing himself. An old housemate and I used to play a game: we'd grab the local paper and see how many photos of ‘disappointed plebs’ it had. The shots were usually taken from above, the subject in the foreground with their arms folded, and the subject of their disappointment in the background.

Kochie is a solid 8/10 disappointed pleb.

Port had it explained to them very clearly before they joined the afl that they would not be allowed to wear the black and white jumper. They then agreed to it.

What's really important here is that the Collingwood jumper is the most important thing in AVFL history. Just liek Collingwood itself, and ergo Eddie.

You just can't have some johnny come lately's from SA mess with the sacrosanctus of their jumper.

The AFL is all about integrity. That can't be bought. Except by TV broadcasters and betting companies.

The idea that you can't have two teams with similar strips is ridiculous. They're different enough that you can easily tell the difference when they're side by side, even if you can't pick which is which on its own (because presumably you have no interest in footy).

When teams with similar jumpers play each other, the away team wears an alternate kit and presto, no problem. Everything else is just posturing. Somehow soccer leagues all over the world have coped with the issue for 150 years.

This wouldn't be an issue if the AwFL stripped Colonwood of its black bars after that integrity report - as they should have. I wasn't kidding at the time, I still believe they should be stripped of them. Then we wouldn't have had that ANZAC day debacle either - no black, choose another colour or go with the all white ya dinosaurs.
