The AFL really cracked down hard on dangerous sling tackles after incidents that occurred about 2 years ago. I recall Bryce Gibbs was an offender that got pinged a number of weeks. Since then, all players have been educated about sling tackles and it's been drummed into them. Why is it that I seem to see more sling tackles in games than ever before? Am I just imagining it? They don't all result in concussions and suspensions, but the umps pay free kicks against sling tacklers multiple times in every game. That what it seems like. Dumb tackles.
