Since the day they were drafted in the same cohort there has been discussion about the relative merits and career outputs of S. Hill vs D. Rich. Without wanting show any disrespect to Hill, and at the risk of angering his understandably loyal Freo supporters, after watching tonight’s game (and especially the last 10 minutes) I think Rich’s maybe edging ahead of our man as to being the better selection. While Hill may have been a better player at his peak, Rich’s current form and likely longevity may mean that he ends up eclipsing Hill who is not only struggling to get onto the park but may not have a place to fill given our current squad. He’s been a mighty contributor but sadly his best days appear to be behind him.
