In some fantastic news for the club we've won the rights to Jesse Motlop and Richard Bartlett.

Jesse in particular shapes as an exciting prospect this year although I'm hoping he doesn't quite reach the top 20 prospects so we can nab him. The list of approved Freo academy players eligible this year are:

Unfortunately I don't see this helping as, based on reports of his junior exploits, I think he'll be gone by the time Pick 20 comes around. My priority at the draft at this early stage would be getting into a position to draft young key forward Jacob Van Rooyen from Claremont. He's already being talked about as a prospective top 10 pick at this years draft.

Sqizzy: I'll reply for Biz - small in stature, this kid should come into the Black Ducks' colts side this year. I'm not sure of the exact relation to our one-game former forward Casey (but I'll ask The Gormeister sometime - he'll know).

In other Sibosado news - it looks promising that Cherie Sibosado is going to take the North West Central seat for Labor from that defector Catania who left for the Nats a while back.

Clubs list pretty much every NGA kid available in the academy, very few are actually a chance at being drafted. Some listed above are prospects who were eligible last season but were overlooked.

I don't have too much information on a lot of those listed for us since there was very little football last year and less colts footy that I was able to watch. A bunch didn't play in the colts either like Jesse Motlop but will this year. The ones to watch are Motlop and Bartlett who did play a few games of colts last year. Colborne I've heard some good things about but I wouldn't imagine any of the rest are likely to be involved without a break out year of footy.

I am not sure why we get excited about these NGA kids. Name one who has looked like a star? Liam was a top 10 pick but not sure he has looked anything like that so far albeit based on a very small sample size

They're not really supposed to be stars, they're supposed to be talented players from outside the system. It's a form of rookie list (back when the rookie list was legitimate)
