It appears that Cerra has put off his contract renewal, which expires at the end of the year. Given that his partner is located in Melbourne and does not intend to move to Perth, the jungle drums are now beating in the east. It would be a blow to lose him but the longer this goes on the more concerned we should be.

If only that were true Shane. I'm not a big speculator and I dont come on here with random bits of gossip. I'm hoping he stays but am concerned based on some solid information (I know ... a well used phrase). I havent seen him looking at properties in Brunswick and I'm not aware of any children that need to be enrolled in Melbourne Grammar, but it would be good to see his signature before we encounter another protracted Brad Hill type situation.

For a player with the talent and temperament of Cerra, I’ve never understood the benefit in re-signing early. Even if he got injured or his form dips, Freo will still want to re-sign him and there will be plenty of other suiters at the end of the year. Why not take the year to see how things pan out?
