Up close and personal

Broadcaster Fox Footy is reportedly considering sending a cameraman out onto the field of play following goals, allowing for an up-close look at players’ jubilation while play is stopped.

Am I the only one who hates all this intrusion by the media in all forms of sports? Cameras on the ground during cricket games, cameras behind the scenes watching tennis players warm up. There is literally nowhere players can go for privacy, other than the toilet, and that's probably going to be televised next.

Don't they have lenses for that.

Why stop there? Surely there's a place for Rodeo clowns on the pitch.

Come to think of it, in the EPL, they have 22 of them.

"...some players incorporating the camera positioning into their celebrations"
Sigh.
I feel old. Maybe it's my brand.

Oh so annoying! But on the other hand if they could have goal line cameras that don't just show the ball as an elongated blur, that would be good!

Nothing like the AFL trying to speed up the game than waiting for a camera clown to vacate the playing arena after a goal.

How long before the players are wired up with little action cams on thier heads?? I'd be just happy if they could get the cameras following the ball properly and keeping it away from Roaming Brian.

We wouldn't see it anyway - they are too busy showing commercials between goals.

Remember when it used to be on a delay and they'd show the celebration and then the ad. The replays went for 14 hours.

Are they paying the camera man per goal or per hour? If it's the latter I'm putting in a job application for the next Melbourne v Freo night game up in Darwin.

If it's per goal, some of those games under Ross Lyon would have brought a different meaning to the term skeleton crew.

They would've had to bring in a clearing D50 celebration to boost the ratings.

Is Fox Footy running the AwFL? I thought Gil Ong Yung was in charge.

Who will be the first player fined for shoving a camera operator on the field after a goal? The sensible guess might be a defender, but i'm going to go left field and suggest that after kicking a ripper Charlie Dixon shirtfronts an operator on account of too much adrenaline.
